Putin signs decree on temporary repayment of Eurobonds
MOSCOW, Jun 22 (PRIME) -- President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on a temporary order of Russia’s Eurobonds repayment through type I accounts in rubles, the government said in a statement on Wednesday.
The decree encompasses opening of a special ruble account for a foreign depository without the presence of a depository’s representative, The holders of Russia’s Eurobonds are beneficiaries of these accounts.
Indexation of the money placed on the accounts will be done at the exchange rate defined by the Finance Ministry in coordination with the central bank. In order to do that, the ministry will sign agreements with the central depository, Russian banks, and other entities.
The central depository is to keep a register of holders of Russian Eurobonds and carry out payments in accordance with the Eurobond documents and through Russian agent banks on time, the document read.
